Mick Schumacher, son of seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher, was recently reunited with the iconic SF71H at Fiorano, the private test track of Ferrari in Italy.

The SF71H is the same car that Mick’s father drove during his final season in Formula One in 2018. The car has a special place in the hearts of Formula One fans, as it helped Ferrari secure several victories and podium finishes that season.

Mick, who is currently competing in Formula 2 and is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, had the opportunity to test the SF71H at Fiorano as part of his ongoing preparations for his debut Formula One season in 2021 with the Haas F1 Team.

The 21-year-old German driver completed numerous laps in the car, getting a feel for the handling and performance of a modern Formula One car. The experience was undoubtedly a special one for Mick, as he followed in his father’s footsteps by driving the same car that Michael competed in during his illustrious career.

Speaking after the test, Mick expressed his gratitude to Ferrari for the opportunity to drive the SF71H, saying, “It was an incredible experience to drive this car, and I want to thank Ferrari for giving me this opportunity. The SF71H is a fantastic machine, and I really enjoyed the day at Fiorano.”

Mick’s test at Fiorano is just one of many steps he is taking to prepare for his debut season in Formula One. The young driver has been impressing in Formula 2, currently leading the championship standings as he aims to secure a seat on the Formula One grid next year.
